今回は、大胆な決断をしたデンマークのニュースをご紹介。日本でも郵便料金が値上げされたように、欧州でも「手紙離れ」は進んでいます。オランダのPost NLに至っては、郵便事業が赤字になったため政府へ支援を要請したものの速攻で拒否されてしまいました。ちなみに、ヨーロッパの郵便や宅配事情は、かなり終わっています。「遅配」は普通。「届かない」もある。「完璧なロスト！」もあります。ある意味、かなり恐ろしい郵便事情ですw
そんな中、かえってモノとして残る「手紙」の価値を再発見する動きも出てきています。ドイツでは「“100年後に生きる誰か” に手紙を書こう！」というユニークなイベントが行われたそう。もし私たちが100年前の、大正デモクラシー真っ只中に生きる人から直筆の手紙をもらったら…？とても興味深いですよね。時空を超えた繋がりを感じられるのも手紙の良いところ。ちなみに日本で作られる和紙の耐久性は1000年と言われています。みなさんは、1000年後の未来にどんなメッセージを遺したいですか？
